From September 10–13, Klaipėda will once again become the centre of animation, games and creative industries — the twelfth BLON Animation and Games Festival is coming. The programme includes feature and short animated films, workshops, video games and virtual reality experiences. This year the festival will present the International Competitive Young Audience Programme for the second time, and its winner will be chosen by a children’s jury.
Apply to Take Part
We invite 3rd grade students and their teachers to apply for the selection process, during which one class will be chosen to become the BLON children’s jury.
If your class is curious, creative and loves animation — this is your chance to be part of the festival.
How to Apply?
Complete a creative task — create a short motivational “letter” answering the following questions:
- Why do you want to participate in BLON festival?
- What makes animation interesting to you? Which films do you like most and why?
- How would you decide which film is the best?
- What would the “perfect” animated film look like to make everyone say “wow!”?
The format is entirely up to you! You can write an essay, record a video or audio message, make drawings, comics or a collage. Most importantly — show your class’s creativity and eagerness to participate.
What Will the Winning Class Do?
During the festival, September 10–13, the winners will be invited to a special screening of the competitive children’s programme. As honoured jury members, the students will watch the competitive short animated films programme, discuss and evaluate the films, and choose the winner. The children’s jury prize will be awarded based on their decision.
