Bartas Polonskis #

Artist, Programmer, Co-founder of Gluk Media (Lithuania)

Bartosh lives and works in Vilnius. While creating for Ars Electronica Futurelab in Linz and for Urbonas Studio MIT in Cambridge, he developed new forms of user interface experience. Over the last decade all of his work was centered to interactive solutions used in public areas, interior and architecture all over the world. Biometrics, sign recognition, image processing and other HCI technologies are those Bartosh uses in his projects. Recently with his team he’s been involved in developing architectural and educational applications in virtual reality context.

Maria Avramova
Maria Avramova #

Maria has over 14 years of experience in animation, film and advertising. She has worked through out the pipeline of a film production and has taken upon several roles – from design to animation into final edit. She has directed and produced a number of commercials, music videos and short films. From 2009 to 2012 she was a member of the managment group and a Creative Director at Forestlight Studio - a company that developed animated feature films, short films and TV-series. Maria´s latest film "Lea and The Forest Pirates" produced by SVT and Snowcloud Films has recieved a number of nominations and premiers in Cinemas in Sweden in February 2016.

With his early projects: Harry and Toto and Agronauta, he gained experience in directing animation, creating layouts, backgrounds, characters’ design. From 2009 acts as a creative producer with the most important project, TV series Mami Fatale (delegate producer). Head of board of Polish Animation Producers Association and active member of Polish Filmmakers Association and a participant of the most important coproduction markets, festivals and animation related events in Europe (Cartoon Forum, Cartoon Movie, MiPJunior, Cinekid, Annecy). Currently working on Basia and Grand Banda TV series and feature film Mice on Strike.

Žilvinas Lilas
Žilvinas Lilas #

Zilvinas Lilas is currently a professor of 3D at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. In 1991 he received a Diploma of Artist from the Vilnius Academy of Arts majoring in Painting. In 2004 he completed his Graduate Studies at the Ohio State University and was awarded a Master of Fine Arts in 3D animation and painting.

Throughout his professional career Prof. Lilas served multiple positions ranging from Interactive Interface Designer to Chief Artist and a Technical Director for a number of start-up as well as internationally renowned companies such as Walt Disney Studios.

Gamification—a historic perspective. The seminar will discuss a current status of affairs in the field of various intertwined strategies, which range from animation and video-games to effective marketing strategies and are commonly labeled under an umbrella-term “gamification”. The analysis will address such topics as selection of effective research tools and choosing a relevant historical context when trying to understand this phenomenon. Special attention will be given to the role of contemporary processor-mediated technologies (computer, smart phones and etc.), and the future trajectories of gamification especially considering the unstoppable march towards ever smarter AI, ever larger “global village” and ever more clever tactics in shaping user behavior leading to possibly deep ramifications in political milieu as the rise of gamified ideology. Prof. Zilvinas Lilas teaches at at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (Germany). Interests: Experimental 3D, gaming and playable systems, critical games, virtual representation, cross and transmedia narration, stereoscopic imaging, creative industries, experience economy.
