It is an exciting coming of-age story about finding one’s own identity, truth, and loyalty. First, we meet Ilze as a little girl playing soldiers at her grandad´s farm. Later, she faces the horror of the threat of war at school. Ilze experiences the clash between Soviet reality and the propaganda that denies what people are actually experiencing. Moreover, Ilze also discovers how opposite in their beliefs are the people she loves the most. The film is about the choices a girl has to make at a very young age, before becoming wiser and finding the courage to speak out.
