The BLON Animation and Games Festival invites creators to take part in the Aware Game Awards – a programme dedicated to celebrating games that go beyond entertainment. The 12th edition of the festival will take place on September 10–13 in Klaipėda, Lithuania.
The Aware Game Awards are built on a powerful idea: games can do more than entertain – they can inspire empathy, raise awareness, and spark meaningful conversations.
Each year, the festival presents 10 selected games from around the world, showcasing a diverse range of voices and perspectives. The competition highlights projects that explore personal journeys, global challenges, and pressing social issues. These are games that invite players not just to win or compete, but to reflect, connect, and better understand the world around them. The awards shine a light on a different – and sometimes unexpected – side of gaming, prioritising meaningful storytelling and emotional impact.
Through the Aware Game Awards, BLON aims to inspire and engage both local and international creative communities, demonstrating the power of interactive media to foster reflection and dialogue.
Selected games become part of the official Aware Game Awards programme, gaining visibility within the BLON festival community and beyond. Creators will have the opportunity to present their work to industry professionals, cultural organisations, and audiences interested in impactful storytelling.
All selected games will be reviewed by an international jury, consisting of 5 experienced industry professionals, and the winning project will receive a €1000 prize.
If your game contributes to a broader conversation and creates meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply. Submissions are open until April 15, 2026.
