BLON Brings Open-Air Animation Film Nights to the Sea Festival
The programme showcases eight contemporary animated short films from Portugal, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, and Spain. Spanning a wide range of artistic styles, themes, and storytelling approaches, the selection highlights the richness and diversity of contemporary European animation—from bold emerging voices to internationally acclaimed filmmakers. Audiences can look forward to moving, surprising, playful, and inspiring stories that offer fresh perspectives on the world around us.
The screenings will take place in the cosy courtyard of Raudonų Plytų Takas Bistro. Settle into a deck chair or bring your own blanket and create the perfect summer movie picnic under the stars. Drinks and snacks will be available to purchase on-site, so all you need to do is relax and enjoy a warm summer evening filled with great animation and good company.
The programme has been curated in collaboration with the international animation festival network Festival Animation Network (FAN).
These animation film nights are also a perfect introduction to the BLON Festival ahead of its main event. From 10–13 September, the 12th BLON Animation and Games Festival will return to Klaipėda for four days of animation, video games, and digital art. The festival programme will include international film screenings, virtual reality experiences, a game competition, talks with creators, lectures, exhibitions, and a wide range of special events.
